IC Information for Kenshin
Jun. 19th, 2030 11:34 pmName: Himura Kenshin
Fandom: Rurouni Kenshin
Timeline: Mostly-manga-continuity---just after Kenshin leaves for Kyoto to fight ShishiO and his campaign to bring about a revolution of Japan. (Chapter 58, if it helps for a reference.)
Age: 28ish-29, looks younger
Appearance: Kenshin is a slender and slight Japanese man, with bright red hair pulled back into a ponytail (aside from unruly bangs), and a cross-shaped scar on his left cheek. His eyes are usually amythyst (and more rounded), and he often appears more willing to smile than scowl. His kimono is usually either blue or magenta, with white hakama, tabi that match the kimono and zouri--all are slightly worn and well-traveled in condition. Kenshin, due to his height and general unthreatening-appearance at first, is often mistaken for a girl. At times though, his eyes will turn golden amber (and narrower) and his expression is serious.
Personality: Kenshin is a good-hearted wanderer who's happy to help out with domestic chores, and is rather goofy at times. He speaks in classical keigo (formal speech) of Japan, and carries a reverse-bladed Katana even though the carrying of swords is forbidden in Meiji Japan. This is because in his early life, Kenshin was the feared assassin, hitokiri Battousai, working for the patriotic ishin-shishi. Since the meiji restoration, he has vowed to not kill, and suppressed the darker 'battousai' nature of his personality, which manifests with amber eyes and a more abrupt speaking style. At his heart though, Kenshin is driven by a desire to protect individuals from danger without harming others.
